Poroshenko earned a billion in a month of war: September declaration

The leader of the “European Solidarity” faction and People’s Deputy Petro Poroshenko increased his wealth by more than 1 billion hryvnias in the first month of autumn, according to declaration, submitted to the portal of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption.

According to reports, in September 2024, Poroshenko became richer by 1 billion 132 million 465 thousand hryvnias. The main sources of income were interest and dividends from securities, which, according to data, were purchased with funds withdrawn from Ukraine.

Compared to pre-war times, Poroshenko’s income increased several times during the war. For example, in September 2019, his earnings amounted to only 8 million hryvnias, which is 125 times less. In September 2021, according to the declaration, Poroshenko did not declare any income at all.

Previously, information appeared in the media that Poroshenko invested 156 million hryvnias collected through his fund to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine in bonds through his own bank, receiving a profit of 50 million hryvnias, which was not taxed.

The media also discussed how Poroshenko’s foundation and the “Community Affairs” organization, which is close to it, used donations from Ukrainians for bail in criminal cases and for profitable transactions with government bonds.

Against the background of these events, deputies from “European Solidarity” got into yet another scandal. In particular, the leader of the faction in the Dnipro City Council, Kamil Primakov, and his wife were spotted at a glamorous party in the Maldives in January 2024, carrying jewelry worth more than 10 million hryvnias. They went to the Maldives instead of a business trip to an international conference on the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.
