OP Shurma’s deputy chairman was dismissed: who can be appointed in his place

On September 3, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed Decree No. 603/2024, which dismissed Rostislav Shurma from the post of deputy head of the President’s Office. Shurma held this position from November 2021 and played an important role in matters of economic development and infrastructure projects.
Shurma did not publicly disclose the reasons for his dismissal, however, in his address on social networks, he thanked President Zelenskyi and the team for their cooperation. “Working with you is a great honor for me. Thank you for the support and drive we felt all these years,” he wrote, noting that he plans to return to work in the private sector.
According to the information of People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak, the candidacy of Oleksandr Kamyshin, who resigned from the post of Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine on the same day, is being considered for Shurma’s place. Kamyshyn, who gained considerable experience in the management of state-owned enterprises, in particular “Ukrzaliznytsia”, may become the next deputy head of the OP.
Personnel changes in the government continue
It is worth noting that Shurma’s dismissal became part of a large-scale personnel reshuffle at the top of the Ukrainian government. On the same day, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olga Stefanishyna also submitted her resignation. Stefanyshyn was actively involved in promoting Ukraine’s European integration course and establishing cooperation with NATO, but the reasons for her dismissal were also not revealed.
In addition, the parliament received resignations from several other ministers. In particular, the Minister of Justice Denys Malyuska, who held this position since 2019, also submitted an application for dismissal. His work was related to reforms in the field of justice and the fight against corruption.
