Opposition forces of Georgia put forward several demands to the authorities

In Georgia, four opposition parties that won seats in parliament but refused to recognize the election results put forward a number of demands on the authorities. About this informs “Exo Caucasus”.
The opposition addressed a statement to the founder and leader of the ruling party “Georgian Dream” Bidzina Ivanishvili. Among the key demands is the immediate release of all political prisoners detained during the protests and the termination of criminal cases against them. The oppositionists also insist on holding new parliamentary elections under the leadership of an independent election commission and ensuring the political neutrality of law enforcement agencies.
The opposition said the election was marred by numerous irregularities, including vote falsification, voter intimidation and the use of administrative resources in favor of the ruling party. They called on the international community to support their demands and help resolve the political crisis in the country.
According to Georgian legislation, the first meeting of the newly elected parliament must take place no later than 10 days after the official announcement of the election results. However, the president of Georgia, like the opposition, refused to recognize the results, which calls into question the legitimacy of the new composition of the parliament.
