Orban offered the European Union to restore diplomatic ties with Russia: Bild

The Prime Minister of Hungary believes that military operations in Ukraine will intensify in the near future.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, after his “peace tour”, sent a letter to the head of the European Council, Charles Michel, with a proposal to restore diplomatic relations with Russia. German edition Picture has accessed this email.

In the letter, Orbán presented his “brief assessment” of recent talks with the leaders of Ukraine, Russia, China, Turkey and Donald Trump, as well as several proposals for consideration.

Regarding Russia’s war against Ukraine, the Hungarian Prime Minister stated: “In general, it can be stated that the intensity of the military conflict will radically increase in the near future.”

Orban called for talks with China on a “peace conference”, the restoration of diplomatic relations with Russia and a political offensive against the countries of the Global South, whose respect, he said, the EU had lost because of its position on the war in Ukraine.

Also in the letter, he talked about his negotiations with Trump and criticized the current US President Joe Biden. Orbán claims that Biden “is not capable of changing the current pro-war policy of the United States, and therefore we should not expect a new policy from him.”

Orbán praises Trump, expressing confidence that if he wins the election, Trump “will not wait for his inauguration, but will be ready to immediately act as a peace mediator.” He notes that Trump has detailed and well-founded plans for this.

However, the Hungarian prime minister also warned that Trump’s election victory would cost the EU dearly.

“I am more than convinced that in the event of a probable victory of President Trump, the financial burden between the USA and the EU will significantly change in favor of the EU when it comes to financial support for Ukraine”, – claims Orban.
