Orban said that Ukraine’s accession to NATO would be the beginning of World War III.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has once again made a sharp statement about Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations, warning that his country will not allow Kyiv to join either NATO or the European Union. In the post in social networks H (former Twitter) Orban expressed his belief that Ukraine’s accession to the North Atlantic Alliance is a direct threat to world peace.
“Ukraine in NATO? This means war with Russia. And the very next day – the beginning of the Third World War. This is not diplomacy, this is madness. Matches are not thrown into a powder keg. – the Hungarian leader wrote, adding that hasty actions on the part of the EU regarding the integration of Ukraine can simply move the front to the center of the European continent.
The head of the Hungarian government emphasized that he will not allow Europe to turn into an arena of large-scale armed conflict. In this context, he once again reminded of his principled position regarding Ukrainian membership in the EU, noting that the ongoing war is the main obstacle to Ukraine’s European integration.
It will be recalled that at the EU summit in Brussels, Orban stated that he represents the position of Hungarian society, referring to the results of the so-called “Vox 2025” referendum, according to which, according to him, 95% of Hungarian citizens opposed Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.
Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Péter Szijártó, also emphasized that the decisions regarding the future membership of Ukraine in the EU should be made by the citizens of the member countries themselves, and, in particular, by the Hungarian people. This statement proved once again that official Budapest continues to consistently block Ukraine’s strategic Euro-Atlantic course.
