Pakistani airstrikes on Afghanistan kill at least 46 people

At least 46 people died as a result of airstrikes carried out by Pakistan on the territory of Afghanistan. About this informs France 24.

According to the representative of the “Taliban” Zabiullah Mujahid, the strikes were carried out in four districts of Barmal in the eastern province of Paktika. He specified that women and children predominate among the dead, the total number of victims is 46. Six more people, mostly children, were injured.

The Ministry of Defense of Afghanistan sharply condemned the actions of Pakistan, calling the airstrikes “barbaric” and “open aggression”. The agency emphasized that this act “will not go unanswered.” At the same time, the Security Service of Pakistan said that the strikes were aimed at “terrorist shelters in Afghanistan.” Jet planes and drones were used for the attack.

The incident comes after the Pakistani Taliban from the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) group, which shares a common ideology with its Afghan counterparts, announced an attack on a Pakistani military outpost near the Afghan border last week. Then, according to Pakistani intelligence, 16 soldiers were killed.
