People’s deputy Zheleznyak declared assets worth UAH 18 million while earning only UAH 2 million during his term as a deputy
People’s deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak submitted declaration for 2023, in which he indicated assets in the total amount of almost UAH 18 million. They include an apartment worth UAH 12 million, a car for UAH 1.2 million, and more than UAH 4.5 million in cash. These amounts are surprising against the background of his official income, which for the entire time of his deputy amounted to slightly more than UAH 2 million.
According to official data, for the period from 2019 to 2023, Zheleznyak received a salary of UAH 2.236 million, which is an average of approximately UAH 43,250 per month (about $1,000 at the current exchange rate).
Despite this level of income, in 2023 the deputy declared the purchase of an apartment worth UAH 11.7 million and an Infiniti car for UAH 1.2 million in 2022. In addition, Zheleznyak keeps cash in the amount of 96 thousand dollars (about 4 million UAH) and 540 thousand UAH.
The deputy’s cumulative assets for 2023 amount to almost UAH 18 million, which is nine times higher than his official income for more than four years of work in the Verkhovna Rada. This fact raises questions about the origin of such significant funds, given the official data on his salary.
