Premium wines from Ukraine presented in Prague

It took place in the capital of the Czech Republic presentation of exquisite Ukrainian wines, organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in the Czech Republic. The event was not only of a tasting nature, but also of cultural and symbolic significance, because, as emphasized by the ambassador of Ukraine, Vasyl Zvarych, Ukrainian winemakers today are not just producers, but guardians of national identity, who create wine despite war, anxiety and danger.

“Our winemakers work even when there are rockets in the sky and sirens wail in the streets. Their work is a manifestation of hope and indomitability, and Ukrainian wine is also a symbol of resistance.” – emphasized the diplomat.

The representative of the Wines of Ukraine company, Kateryna Kapranova, in her speech spoke about the deep historical roots of winemaking in Ukraine, which is more than 200 years old. At the same time, she emphasized that the modern industry is still young and experienced a serious blow in 2014 after the occupation of Crimea. It was then that a significant part of the production was lost – more than half of the already bottled wines, mainly dessert and semi-sweet varieties.

Despite this, the occupation became an impetus for reformatting the industry. Producers refocused on dry wines that meet modern European tastes and standards, and began to more actively promote their products abroad.

The Wines of Ukraine company, established in 2021, already represents Ukrainian winemaking on the international stage – the wines it promotes participate in competitions and win awards.

Premium Ukrainian brands were presented during the presentation in Prague, including:

Winemaking in Ukraine, despite war losses and destruction in the south, continues to develop and export products that become part of Ukraine’s international image. The industry shows an example of adaptation, endurance and cultural strength, which sounds in every bottle of Ukrainian wine.
