Prosecutor General Kravchenko promised an audit of cases related to business

Prosecutor General of Ukraine Ruslan Kravchenko announced his intention to conduct an audit of criminal proceedings related to Ukrainian business. That’s what he’s about stated at the “Government and Business Forum: From Dialogue to Partnership” in Kyiv.

“The second priority is to finally deal with the proceedings that concern the business, to protect the business and to achieve justice in these matters”, Kravchenko noted.

He also announced the reorganization of the Department of Criminal Policy and Investment Protection in the Attorney General’s Office, promising to establish legal communication with business:

“Today, the Department of Criminal Policy and Investment Protection was reorganized. This unit should have played a key role in ensuring the rights of investors and businesses, but did not live up to expectations.”

According to the Prosecutor General, the department’s work was mostly limited to formal meetings and bureaucratic procedures:

“Business does not need formalities, but transparent rules, predictability and effective protection. Entrepreneurship can function even in the difficult conditions of war, if it is not hindered. However, business must also work within legal limits.”

Kravchenko also emphasized that mediation should be one of the activities of the prosecutor’s office.

“I will ensure legal communication with business and fairness”, he concluded.
