Prozorro opens tender for supply of 10,000 FPV drones with homing system: Fedorov

Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov has announced a tender for the purchase of 10,000 FPV drones with homing system via the closed Prozorro platform. He made the announcement during a telethon.

The development of homing modules is a technically challenging task, yet 10+ companies already produce them in Ukraine. Competition is emerging in the market, which allows us to purchase drones at the lowest price. Thus, the state has already contracted 3,000 FPV drones with homing at the lowest cost through a Prozorro tender and is now holding another one for 10,000 such UAVs,’ the minister said.

Fedorov emphasised that it is particularly important to counter Russian electronic warfare (EW) at the frontline, and homing drones are a partial solution to this need.

Such a UAV reaches the target despite the effects of enemy electronic warfare. The war is moving to a new technological level, so we need to be fast, support entrepreneurs and predict the future,’ he added.

The minister also said that drones will be gradually transferred to the frontline to strengthen defence.

Next, we need to work with operators on the use of these drones, respond to how to improve this technology, because the level of sophistication is growing every day and we also need to invest in training so that all our operators can quickly apply new technologies,’ Fedorov stressed.

He also said that over a million drones have already been delivered to the frontline this year.
