Putin proposes to introduce “interim governance under the auspices of the UN” in Ukraine

The head of the Kremlin, Volodymyr Putin, proposed to consider the possibility of introducing a temporary administration in Ukraine under the leadership of the UN and a number of countries in order to organize elections.

“In principle, of course, it would be possible under the auspices of the UN, the USA, with European countries, of course, with our partners and friends to discuss the possibility of conducting a temporary administration in Ukraine. In order to hold democratic elections, in order to bring to power an effective government that has the trust of the people, and then start negotiations on a peace treaty with them.” – said the Russian president.

In his opinion, with such a government it would be possible to sign “legitimate documents that will be recognized all over the world and will be reliable.”

“It is not clear to Russia with whom to sign something in Ukraine, because tomorrow other leaders will come”, – explained the head of the Kremlin.

He also mentioned the BRICS and North Korea among the partners with which Russia is allegedly ready to work on the “Ukrainian settlement”. At the same time, Putin said that the Russian Federation is apparently ready to interact with European countries, but they are “trying to lead by the nose.” In addition, he called “Azov” a problem in Ukraine, which, according to him, “is gaining actual power.”

The United States reacted to Putin’s statement. A representative of the National Security Council of the White House, answering questions about Putin’s statements about the interim administration, stated that the system of governance in Ukraine is determined by its constitution and the people of the country.
