Trump signed a decree on the liquidation of the US Department of Education

US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order to eliminate the Department of Education, saying that this department is against the interests of America. That’s what he’s about reported at a briefing in the White House.

Trump emphasized that “today we are taking a truly historic step that has been 45 years in the making.” He also promised to sign an executive order that would “once and for all” start the process of eliminating the Department of Education.

“The Department of Education here in Washington, D.C. is largely staffed by radical left-wing Marxist bureaucrats who are thoroughly hostile to Western civilization, hostile to American interests, and hostile to our founding documents and culture. They use their position and influence to try to impose their agendas.”, – emphasized the US president.

It will be recalled that on March 12, the department announced a reduction of approximately 50% of the staff, which was the first stage on the way to its liquidation. After the layoffs, the Department of Education has 2,183 employees instead of the previous 4,133. The complete closure of the Department is possible only after the appropriate legislation is passed by Congress.
