Reserve heat supply for UAH 470 million: the Cabinet of Ministers allocates funds for Burshtyn and Dobrotvor

At an extraordinary meeting, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to allocate more than 470 million hryvnias to ensure backup heat supply in Burshtyn (Ivano-Frankivsk region) and Dobrotvor (Lviv region). About this reported Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

He emphasized that this decision was a response to large-scale missile strikes that significantly damaged the only heat producers in these cities, which threatened the full heating season.

“To ensure a stable heating season, we allocate funds from the reserve fund. This will allow the local authorities to purchase and install additional energy equipment that will provide the necessary heat supply”Shmyhal noted.

We will remind, the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk OVA Svitlana Onyshchuk reported that the Burshtynskaya TPP suffered such large-scale destruction as a result of Russian attacks that its restoration became impossible. Due to constant shelling, which is more than 12, the city of Burshtyn is in danger of being left without heat and hot water in the winter. At the end of June, it was already agreed to allocate six boiler rooms for social facilities and city residents.

This situation became part of a general disaster: due to massive Russian attacks, Ukraine lost more than 9 GW of generation capacity. Such private thermal power plants as Ladyzhynska, Dobrotvirska, Trypilska, Zmiivska, Kurakhivska and Prydniprovska TPPs suffered significant damage.

It should be noted that on May 17, the government decided to allocate more than 1.5 billion hryvnias for the restoration of the destroyed Zmiivskaya and Trypilskaya TPPs, which is another step in the struggle for the stability of the country’s energy system.
