Revolut has started negotiations with the NBU to obtain a license

The British neobank Revolut and the National Bank of Ukraine have started a regulatory dialogue on the company’s obtaining a Ukrainian banking license. About this informs Forbes.
“We are open to a dialogue with Revolut and are ready to facilitate the start of the process of obtaining a license by the company in Ukraine. Currently, such a regulatory dialogue has been initiated on the basis of mutual requests from the company and the regulator.” – noted in the NBU press service.
Revolut previously informed the Ukrainian regulator about its intentions to work in Ukraine and plans to obtain a Ukrainian banking license in the future, actively cooperating with the NBU. Currently, the British neobank serves Ukrainian clients through RevolutBank UAB, which is registered in Lithuania and is under the supervision of the European Central Bank and the Bank of Lithuania.
“Revolut pays priority attention to compliance with local regulatory requirements and has conducted a thorough assessment before providing services to residents of Ukraine on a cross-border basis,” – said in the neobank’s statement.
