Rubio noted that the Trump administration intends to return to the policy of maximum pressure on the Iranian regime. He refrained from revealing details about specific measures that could be taken to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons, but emphasized:
“But I want to make it clear that the Iranian regime must never be allowed to have nuclear weapons with which they can hold the whole world hostage and potentially attack Israel.” emphasized the state secretary.
Rubio also noted that if the US had intended to eliminate the Iranian regime, it would have already happened.
