Russia announced its readiness to supply gas to the EU bypassing Ukraine

The Russian Federation has announced its readiness to continue supplying gas to Europe through alternative routes, as the contract for transit through Ukraine is coming to an end this year. This was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Oleksandr Novak, transmits Bloomberg.

Novak noted that the future of gas transportation depends on agreements between Ukraine and the European Union. He emphasized that Russia is ready to maintain supplies not only through the Ukrainian route, but also through other available routes.

The end of the transit agreement is causing serious concern in countries such as Slovakia, which continues to be heavily dependent on Gazprom supplies. At the same time, most European countries are gradually renouncing Russian pipeline gas.

Earlier, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stated that the transit of Russian gas through the territory of Ukraine is possible only under the conditions of guarantees that the Kremlin will not receive financial benefits while the war continues.

European natural gas prices continued to rise for a fourth straight day on supply uncertainty as the current transit agreement between Ukraine and Russia is just days away.
