Russia announced the start of an offensive on the Dnipropetrovsk region

The Russian side announced the beginning of an offensive on the territory of the Dnipropetrovsk region. This was stated by the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmytro Medvedev.
He reported that Russian troops allegedly “launched an offensive” in this region, accompanying the statement with new threats. In particular, he noted that those “who do not want to recognize the realities of war” during the negotiations will allegedly “receive new realities on the ground.”
On June 8, the Ministry of Defense of Russia announced the advance of its forces. There it was said that the Russian military reached the border between the Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions to the northwest of Gorikhovy, advanced to the southeast of Muravka, to the west of Kotlyarivka, as well as to the west and southwest of Bohdanivka.
At the same time, ISW analysts do not discovered geolocation evidence of these declared advances near the border of the Dnipropetrovsk region. Specialists analyzed satellite images from June 7 and 8, which recorded new funnels from artillery strikes.
In their conclusion, ISW analysts noted that the activity of Russian troops near the administrative border indicates the continuation of their offensive actions in the southwestern part of Donetsk region, and not the beginning of a large-scale operation to capture strategically important territories in Dnipropetrovsk region.
