Bodies of 501 fallen defenders handed over to Ukraine
As a result of the repatriation measures, the bodies of 501 fallen defenders were returned to Ukraine. About it in Telegram reported Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
In particular, it was possible to repatriate 382 bodies of soldiers who died in the Avdiiv region, 56 bodies from the Bakhmut region, 45 from the Mariinsky region, 6 from the Vugledar region, 4 from the Zaporizhia region, as well as 7 defenders who died in the Luhansk region. In addition, 1 body was returned from a morgue in the territory of the Russian Federation.
This operation was made possible thanks to the joint efforts of the staff of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the Joint Center of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Office of the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Emergency Service and other organizations of the Security and Defense Sector.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine will deliver the repatriated bodies to the relevant state institutions, where forensic medical experts and law enforcement officers will establish the identities of the dead. After that, the bodies of the heroes will be handed over to their families for a dignified burial.
