Russia attacked the market in Kostyantynivka: there are victims among the civilian population

Russian troops shelled the market in Kostyantynivka, Donetsk region, on September 7. This is not the first time that the city has become a target for Russian attacks. Local Telegram channels reported several explosions, the number of which ranged from 8 to 10.

“On the morning of September 7, Kostyantynivka was shelled by Russian troops“, – writes edition.

According to the information of journalists and witnesses of the event, there are dead and wounded.

The head of the Donetsk regional military administration, Vadym Filashkin, later confirmed, that as a result of the artillery shelling, three people were killed and three more were injured.

“3 people died and 3 were injured as a result of the shelling of Kostyantynivka. The Russians shelled the city with artillery, killing three men aged 24 to 69. Three people received minor injuries, they were provided with the necessary medical assistance.”, – wrote Filashkin.

As a result of the shelling, the infrastructure was also damaged: a high-rise building, an administrative building, a store, a pharmacy, six cars and three power lines were damaged.

The Russian Federation attacked the city using artillery

Russian troops carried out artillery fire on the city of Kostyantynivka in the period from 09:15 to 10:00. According to preliminary data, the attack was carried out with the use of barrel artillery, and the shelling took place in a densely populated area of ​​the city.

“As a result of the shelling, three men aged 24, 46 and 69, who were near the local market, received non-life-threatening injuries”, – the prosecutor’s office said.

Three civilians were also injured — a 50-year-old woman and two men aged 29 and 59. They suffered injuries of varying degrees of severity, including shrapnel injuries to their arms and legs. All victims are provided with the necessary medical assistance.

The artillery strike also caused significant damage to infrastructure. 13 objects were damaged, including a multi-story residential building, a medical facility, a pharmacy, a shopping center, vehicles and power lines.

This shelling came almost a year after the previous attack on the market in Kostyantynivka, when a rocket attack killed 16 people, including a child, and injured 33 others. At that time, criminal proceedings were opened for violation of the laws and customs of war. In addition, the new attack occurred symbolically on the day of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Kostyantynivka from the Nazi invaders.
