On the evening of May 20, there were reports on the Internet that Russian troops had struck the training ground of the Defense Forces in the Sumy region. According to journalists and the military, the strike on the training ground where the Ukrainian military was training was carried out by an “Iskander” missile.
We will remind that on March 1, 2025, a similar tragedy occurred in the Dnipropetrovsk region: the Russian army launched a missile attack on the training ground where servicemen of the 157th separate mechanized brigade were stationed. The ground forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported the dead and wounded as a result of the attack.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrsky reported that the strike was carried out by an “Iskander-M” ballistic missile with a cluster warhead. The commander of the Ground Forces ordered an inspection with the involvement of military counterintelligence. The State Bureau of Investigation opened criminal proceedings under the article “negligence”.
