The Verkhovna Rada supported the reform of ARMA

On February 12, the Verkhovna Rada supported in the first reading the draft law on the reform of the Agency for Search and Asset Management (ARMA). About this reported People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
“The Council supported (draft law) No. 12374-d regarding ARMA reform. “For” basis – 233″, – the message says.
According to Zheleznyak, the document provides for the independent selection of the head of ARMA with the preferential right of international experts, a significant improvement of the management process and an increase in the efficiency of the agency’s work. He also emphasized that the adoption of this draft law is part of the implementation of the “Ukraine Facility” with a deadline of March 31.
“80% of seized assets transferred to ARMA by court orders do not bring income to the state. Moreover, these assets are not even transferred to managers and sometimes continue to “feed” owners who are involved in criminal proceedings or corrupt people. Despite the increase in profits from the management of seized assets, ARMA does not provide effective management of even half of their “portfolio””. – noted the head of the anti-corruption committee of the Verkhovna Rada, People’s Deputy Anastasia Radina.
In her opinion, it is time to regulate the management of seized assets so that the state receives income, and the owner does not suffer losses from asset depreciation.
