Russian corporation Gazprom is preparing for a large-scale staff reduction

The central apparatus of the Gazprom Corporation will be reduced almost in half. More than one and a half thousand workers are planned to be laid off, the management structure will undergo changes. This is reported by rosZMI.

Gazprom is considering a decision to reduce the central staff from 4,100 to 2,500 employees. At the end of December, the deputy chairman of the board of the corporation, Olena Ilyukhina, sent the proposal regarding the reduction to the chairman of the board Oleksiy Miller. However, this initiative belongs not only to Ilyukhin, but is a procedural formalization of the general decision of Gazprom.

In her report, Ilyukhina emphasizes that the challenges facing the Gazprom group require shortening decision-making periods, eliminating duplicate functions and excessive bureaucracy, increasing the focus of employees on results in the company’s key processes, as well as optimizing costs at all levels of management and production. processes.

Such large-scale changes indicate a review of the entire monopoly management structure. Without this, it is impossible to carry out mass layoffs, because the employee must be officially informed that his position is no longer provided for in the new structure.
