Russian propagandist Solovyov received suspicion in absentia from the SBU

The Security Service of Ukraine in absentia raised suspicions against Russian propagandist Volodymyr Solovyov, who repeatedly publicly called for the use of tactical nuclear weapons against Ukraine. About this reported SBU press office.

According to the SBU, numerous actions of Solovyov have been documented that contribute to the legitimization of Russian aggression against Ukraine, justify the war crimes of the occupiers, and contain public calls for the extermination of the Ukrainian people. According to the investigation materials, the suspect is part of the media entourage of the illegitimate head of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, and serves as one of the Kremlin’s key propagandists.

Solovyov has repeatedly called for the use of tactical nuclear weapons against Ukraine, and in recent broadcasts on Russian television, he demanded the “complete capture” of four Ukrainian regions in the east and south of the country. In the course of 2024–2025, he “called” for the destruction of civilian objects and the population of Ukrainian cities in various regions of Ukraine, in particular due to airstrikes by the Russian Federation.

Based on the collected evidence, Solovyov was notified of suspicion under five articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

  • h 3 Art. 110 — encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine;
  • h. 2 st. 442 — genocide;
  • h 3 Art. 436-2 — justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants;
  • Part 3 of Article 109 — actions aimed at violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order or seizure of state power;
  • Art. 436 – propaganda of war.
