SAPO completed the investigation against the first ex-deputy head of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine

The prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) decided to complete the pre-trial investigation in the case of the former first deputy head of the State Fiscal Service (SFS) of Ukraine, who is suspected of abuse of office, which caused the state losses of over 641 million hryvnias. About this informs SAP press office.
“In June 2017, the first deputy head of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, acting in the interests of the business entity, deliberately did not sign the draft decision within the prescribed time frame based on the results of the review of the taxpayer’s complaint against the tax notices-decisions of the territorial bodies of the SFS of Ukraine. Due to the employee’s inaction, this complaint was automatically resolved in favor of the mentioned taxpayer in accordance with the norms of the Tax Code of Ukraine.”, says the message.
At the same time, the official deliberately created the appearance of the impossibility of signing such a decision in order to hide his actions. It is reported that this employee was the only authorized person of the SFS to sign decisions based on the results of consideration of taxpayers’ complaints.
“Due to the abuse of official duties by the specified employee, the state, represented by the SFS of Ukraine, lost the right to demand payment of taxes and fines to the State Budget of Ukraine in the amount of over 641 million hryvnias.” — noted in SAP.
As of today, NABU detectives, on the instructions of the SAP prosecutor, have opened the case materials to the defense for perusal. The former first deputy head of the SFS was notified of suspicion under part. 2 Art. 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
