Shmyhal confirmed Ukraine’s readiness to sign a subsoil agreement with the United States

Ukraine is ready to conclude an agreement on cooperation in the field of subsoil with the United States in order to start joint work on a pragmatic basis. About this stated Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.
“We are ready to sign an agreement on the creation of an investment fund to start working with the USA on a pragmatic basis. The agreement was approved by the government of Ukraine. This will be an element of economic growth of Ukraine, an element of protection. We ask for specific security guarantees”, says the statement.
The Prime Minister said that together with the Trump administration, the parties prepared the text of the preliminary agreement. It provides for further joint work on a specific international agreement on the creation of an investment fund. Currently, the document outlines only the political framework for the formation of this fund.
“First, in this agreement, we write down the agreement that we are ready to jointly form this fund. Second, we say that this fund will be managed jointly by the government of Ukraine and the government of the United States. Thirdly, Ukraine’s contribution will be 50% of future revenues from minerals and subsoil. Shmyhal explained.
