Shmyhal defined the priorities for the new head of the Ministry of Reconstruction

The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, officially introduced the new head of the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development, Oleksiy Kuleba, who will be responsible for the process of restoring housing for Ukrainians. This is Shmyhal reported in your Telegram channel.

“Introduced the Ministry’s team to the new Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction — Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba”, – he wrote.

The head of the Cabinet also outlined the main principles of work in the new position, which include:

  • effective interaction between all levels of government and key partners. It is important to establish a permanent dialogue to solve urgent issues, especially in the context of preparing for the winter period.
  • people are in the spotlight. The main focus will be on helping those most affected by the war and in need of state support.
  • European integration. Implementation of the best European practices at the local level, which will help to increase the capacity of communities and introduce new management standards.
  • infrastructure restoration. The priority remains quick and high-quality restoration, taking into account the principle of “rebuild better than it was”.
  • transparency and accountability. Only through transparent and accountable processes, it is possible to ensure the implementation of all the indicated priorities in the near future.

Shmyhal also emphasized the importance of updating the State Strategy for Regional Development. It should take into account functional territories, regional policies and the potential of communities in humanitarian, social and infrastructural contexts, in particular taking into account the consequences of war.
