Since the beginning of 2024, 119 citizens of Ukraine have suffered from human trafficking: the Ministry of Social Policy
The agency reminds that anyone can suffer from this crime, regardless of age, social status and level of education.

Since the beginning of this year, the status of victims of human trafficking has been established for 119 citizens, including 44 women, 65 men and 10 children (5 boys and 5 girls). informs Government portal.
According to statistics:
- 13 people suffered from sexual exploitation;
- 8 – from labor exploitation;
- 7 – involvement in begging;
- 3 – involvement of persons in criminal activity;
- 1 – sale of a child;
- 17 – use in armed conflicts;
- 70 – other types.
By types of human trafficking: 72 persons suffered from internal trafficking, 45 from human trafficking in other countries, and 2 more from other types of human trafficking.
Today, July 30, on the World Day against Human Trafficking, established by the UN General Assembly, the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine reminds that anyone can suffer from this crime, regardless of age, social status and level of education.
It is important to immediately recognize the signs of human trafficking:
- Passport or other documents were taken away;
- Deprived of freedom of movement and communication with relatives;
- They promised a well-paid job, but did not pay the promised money;
- Threatened, beat, raped, or exerted psychological pressure;
- Forced to perform work with the help of physical or psychological violence;
- Forced to work off fictitious debts;
- Used labor without paying fully or partially the promised wages;
- A person did not have the opportunity to quit work at his own will;
- Forced to work overtime, real working conditions were much worse than promised;
- Forced to beg, carry out criminal activities or used in armed conflict.
Anyone can become a victim of human trafficking, regardless of gender, age, social status or level of education.
