Singer Melovin announced that he had mobilized to the State Security Service of Ukraine

The 28-year-old Ukrainian singer Kostyantyn Bocharov, known by the stage name Melovin, announced during his concert in Kyiv that he had been mobilized to the State Border Service of Ukraine. A video with a corresponding statement appeared on his Instagram page.
“I was invited to this ensemble, so since then I have also been a border guard. Since that time, I have been playing with that ensemble. And I do my service, but musically, together with such incredible musicians of the DPSU.” he announced from the stage.
On the stage, Melovin performed accompanied by the musicians of the ensemble, and from the stage he expressed his gratitude for the trust given to him. Melovin emphasized that this is not a temporary project or collaboration, but his conscious and sincere decision.
“I am glad that I have the opportunity to become part of the ensemble of the State Border Service of Ukraine. Music has always been my weapon. Now it will sound in the formation as well. Thank you for your trust. This stage is not about the stage. It is about the country. About the people. About the service. About joint power.”, he added.
However, such an unexpected mobilization caused a controversial reaction in society. A significant part of social media users questioned the expediency of this form of service, believing that musical activity in the army does not correspond to the idea of fulfilling a full-fledged military duty.
