Blinken in Kyiv did not report the permission to attack ATACMS in the Russian Federation, this issue will be discussed in the USA

During his visit to Kyiv, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken held talks with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi, where, among other things, the issue of using long-range weapons to strike military targets on the territory of Russia was discussed.

“Among other things, we discussed long-range strikes, as well as a number of other issues”, he said during the briefing.

The Secretary of State noted that after these negotiations, he plans to return to Washington and report to US President Joe Biden on the results of the discussions.

Earlier, Axios reported that during his visit to Kyiv, Blinken may announce permission to use long-range ATACMS missiles for strikes on Russian territory.

Blinken also reported that on September 13, US President Joe Biden is planning a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, during which the possibility of allowing strikes against Russia with the help of long-range weapons will probably be discussed.

On August 16, the British edition of The Times reported that the United States actually blocks Ukraine’s use of Storm Shadow missiles to strike Russian targets. According to the sources, Great Britain waited more than a month for a response from the United States regarding the authorization of these strikes, but the response never came. The White House later denied this information.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said on August 19 that if Western partners lifted restrictions on the use of long-range weapons against Russia, Ukrainian forces would not need an offensive in the Kursk region. He also emphasized the need to supply missiles, because not all targets in Russia can be hit with the help of drones.
