Сполучені Штати запропонували проєкт резолюції ООН до третьої річниці повномасштабного вторгнення Росії в Україну, у якому немає прямих формулювань щодо засудження агресії РФ. У короткому тексті резолюції США висловлюють скорботу через «трагічну загибель людей під час російсько-українського конфлікту» та закликають до якнайшвидшого припинення бойових дій і встановлення «міцного миру між Україною і Росією». Водночас у документі немає згадок про повномасштабне вторгнення, порушення Росією міжнародного права чи її статус держави-агресора. Постійний представник РФ в ООН Василій Небєнзя публічно схвалив американську ініціативу, назвавши її «хорошим кроком». Москва також запропонувала додати в текст поправку про «усунення першопричин» війни. Натомість у проєкті резолюції, підготовленому Європейським Союзом та Україною – без участі США серед співавторів – чітко згадується «повномасштабне вторгнення Російської Федерації в Україну» та наголошується на необхідності виконання всіх попередніх рішень Генасамблеї щодо російської агресії.
The United States has proposed a draft UN resolution for the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, which does not contain direct statements condemning Russia’s aggression. About this informs Reuters.
In the short text of the resolution, the United States expresses grief over the “tragic loss of life during the Russian-Ukrainian conflict” and calls for the earliest possible cessation of hostilities and the establishment of “strong peace between Ukraine and Russia.”
At the same time, the document does not mention a full-scale invasion, Russia’s violation of international law, or its status as an aggressor state.
The Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, Vasiliy Nebyenzia, publicly approved the American initiative, calling it a “good step”. Moscow also proposed to add an amendment to the text about “eliminating the root causes” of the war.
Instead, the draft resolution prepared by the European Union and Ukraine – without the participation of the US among the co-authors – clearly mentions the “full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine” and emphasizes the need to implement all previous decisions of the General Assembly regarding Russian aggression.
