From September 1, 2025, the extra payment for teachers in Ukraine will be doubled and will amount to 2,600 hryvnias. About this reported Deputy Minister of Education and Science Andrii Stashkiv.
“From September 1, 2025, the surcharge will be doubled and will amount to 2,600 hryvnias. Accordingly, the teacher will receive at least 2,000 hryvnias. Again, if the teacher works more than the rate, this supplement will be increased proportionally. Stashkiv noted.
He specified that currently the average salary of a teacher in Ukraine is about 13 thousand hryvnias, but this is not enough to ensure the proper level of remuneration.
“I would like teachers to receive a decent salary. This is also provided for in the law on education, when the minimum official salary is 3 minimum wages. But it is necessary to understand that now the state budget of Ukraine is being formed in very difficult conditions.
Significant expenditures go to the military sphere. And this year, despite the fact that the number of schools in our country has decreased, the number of students in schools has decreased, the same amount for teachers’ salaries has been included in the state budget. At the same time, an additional 12 billion hryvnias were found for this payment, and it is planned for this year., – Stashkiv explained.
From January 1, 2025, teachers already receive additional payments. The minimum amount of this allowance is 1,300 hryvnias, which allows teachers to receive 1,000 hryvnias. If the teacher works more than the rate, the amount of the supplement increases proportionally. After the end of the academic year, the final distribution of funds will take place between territorial communities, in order to ensure an increased level of additional payments from September.
We will remind that according to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 1286, such additional payments are provided until the end of martial law, and after its end – until the end of the current calendar year.
