Sweden will continue to support Ukraine in infrastructure restoration and construction

Oleksiy Kuleba, the Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine and the Minister of Community and Territorial Development, held a meeting with the Minister of Infrastructure and Housing Construction of Sweden, Andreas Carlson, during which the prospects for further cooperation in the field of the country’s reconstruction were discussed. “We are open to the start of joint projects with Sweden, both in the field of transport and in the field of housing reconstruction. The Ministry is currently paying considerable attention to issues of maritime infrastructure security. Therefore, the help of foreign partners in these directions will be very useful”Kuleba noted.
In turn, Andreas Carlson said that Sweden is actively looking for opportunities to support the Ukrainian railway. The country is also ready to participate in the restoration of air traffic, as soon as the security situation in Ukraine allows the implementation of such projects.
As noted in the Ministry of Community Development, the parties discussed specific steps that will facilitate the prompt launch of bilateral initiatives. The Swedish government plans to create a multi-year program to support the civilian sector of Ukraine, which will be similar to the already existing defense cooperation program.
