Telsa Optimus humanoid robot learned to dance (video)

Tesla’s Optimus humanoid robot has demonstrated a new skill — dancing. Appropriate message made public CEO of the company Elon Musk in his X account.

Tesla engineer Milan Kovacs added that the team is actively improving the robot and will soon be able to show even more results. According to him, training is carried out using the reinforcement learning (RL) method.

“Many optimizations and fixes have been implemented in our training code that adapts to real-world simulations,” – says Kovach.

He also clarified that the wire visible in the video posted by Musk was used solely for insurance in case of a fall, as this is only the initial results of the work.

We will remind that the first public demonstration of Optimus robots took place in October 2024 during the “We, Robot” presentation, where the Tesla Cybercar autonomous taxi and the Tesla Robovan bus were also presented. At that time, the work was managed remotely by people. Currently, Optimus is under active development, and Elon Musk said that the company plans to release five thousand such robots by the end of 2025.
