American historian Timothy Snyder and actor Mark Hamill raised more than $480,000 for robotic demining systems as part of the Safe Land project. About this reported platform UNITED24.
The fundraiser was initiated by Timothy Snyder, dedicating the event to his birthday. The goal was to raise $441,000 for the purchase of 30 robotic systems. As noted on the UNITED24 platform, these robots are able to work in hard-to-reach places, ensuring safety for operators thanks to remote control.
The collected funds will be used for the purchase of Snake demining platforms, SIRKO-S1 UGV platforms and KNLR-E multi-purpose tracked platforms for Ukrainian sappers.
UNITED24 is the official fundraising platform of Ukraine, which has already raised $746 million for aid in various areas, including defense, humanitarian demining, medical aid, reconstruction of Ukraine, and support for education and science. Thanks to this platform, the reconstruction of the hospital damaged in early 2022 is also underway.
