The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine allowed Ukrnafta to buy the Shell network in Ukraine

The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) approved the acquisition by the state company “Ukrnafta” of the chain of Shell gas stations in Ukraine. About this reported press office of the regulator.

“Ukrnafta PJSC has been granted permission to purchase a share in the authorized capital of Alliance Holding LLC, which ensures an excess of 50% of the votes in the company’s highest management body”, the message says.

In November 2024, Ukrnafta entered into an agreement with Shell to acquire 51% of the authorized capital of Alliance Holding LLC, which manages the network of Shell gas stations in Ukraine. The remaining 49% from October 2024 belong to the State Property Fund of Ukraine. This share was previously owned by the Russian oligarch Eduard Khudainatov, but after the introduction of sanctions and the decision of the High Anti-Corruption Court, the assets were transferred to the state.

The network of Shell gas stations, which is among the ten largest operators in terms of fuel sales in Ukraine, unites 118 filling stations. It ranks 9th in the volume of fuel sales as of 9 months of 2024 and 7th in the number of gas stations located in areas with high traffic activity.

“Ukrnafta” plans to rebrand all gas stations within a year after the completion of the transaction. In addition, the company promises to retain staff, including 1,550 employees at gas stations and head office.
