The Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out a ground attack without the use of infantry for the first time
The Ukrainian Defense Forces launched a front-line ground attack for the first time using exclusively unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) and FPV drones, successfully destroying the positions of the Russian occupiers. About this informs Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
A representative of the Ukrainian brigade operating in the Kharkiv region said that the operation took place near the settlement of Liptsi, north of Kharkiv. The date of the attack was not specified. During the operation, dozens of UGVs equipped with machine guns were used to attack and demine positions.
“This confirms Ukraine’s efforts to use technology to compensate for the limited number of manpower compared to the Russian army, which is willing to accept heavy losses for minor territorial gains.” – says the message.
ISW notes that Ukraine is actively improving the production of drones. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced the completion of tests of UAVs on optical fibers, which are more resistant to radio-electronic warfare (ERW). It is noted that Russia is already deploying such drones in its army, in particular in the Kursk region.
