The Cabinet of Ministers allocated an additional 3 billion hryvnias for road maintenance

The Cabinet of Ministers decided to additionally allocate more than 3 billion hryvnias of budget balances to the maintenance of public roads in 2025. About this reported representative of the government in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk.
According to the resolution, 44.67 million UAH of balances, counted as own revenues of the State Agency for Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure, as well as 2.736 billion UAH of budget funds received in previous years, but not used in 2024, will be directed under the program “Development of the network and maintenance of public roads” within the limits of development expenditures.
In addition, the government adopted changes to the procedure for using these funds, expanding it to the corresponding balances. This will make it possible to direct funding to:
- construction, reconstruction, capital and current average repair of public highways of state importance;
- development and arrangement of checkpoints on the state border for road traffic;
- modernization and maintenance of road infrastructure facilities.
These changes do not cover subvention balances, which are accounted for in local budget accounts – they are used according to the specified purpose.
We will remind you that on January 27, the European Union provided grant funding for the improvement of the road and transport infrastructure at the Yagodin-Dorogusk checkpoint on the Ukrainian-Polish border within the framework of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) program.
