The Cabinet of Ministers will pay 200 thousand hryvnias to internship graduates for employment in villages or frontline areas

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine introduced a one-time financial aid in the amount of 200,000 hryvnias for internship graduates who decide to work in state or communal medical institutions located in rural areas or in areas where hostilities are ongoing. About this informs press office of the Ministry of Health.

In order to receive payment, a young doctor must sign a three-year employment contract with the relevant medical facility. The position for which he is applying must be published on the Unified web portal of vacancies in the field of health care, and the staffing level of medical personnel in the institution must not exceed 75%.

“Along with security and defense, investment in human capital is an end-to-end policy of the government and the state. We approve the resolution on the introduction of a one-time payment of UAH 200,000 for graduates of medical universities who find work in medical institutions in rural areas or in the territory of active hostilities. This is an effective support for young specialists and a means of overcoming the shortage of medical personnel in the field.” – emphasized the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

The one-time payment mechanism will operate throughout the period of martial law. After its completion or cancellation, the Ministry of Health will conduct an analysis of the personnel situation in state and communal institutions in order to improve the model of support for young professionals.

“Our goal is for medical care to be available everywhere: in a big city, in a village, in a de-occupied or front-line territory. This requires not only modern medical facilities, but also the people who work in them. In order to support young doctors and encourage them to stay working where they are really needed, the Government is introducing a number of incentives: a one-time payment of 200,000 hryvnias for young specialists who are starting their working career, ensuring their housing, increased payment ratios for medical facilities working in rural and frontline areas. We want every doctor to have conditions for professional development, and every patient to get help on time and close to home.”, – said Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko.
