The coordination headquarters asks Ukrainians not to interfere with the release of prisoners (video)

Coordinating headquarters for dealing with prisoners of war notes that the liberation of our Defenders is a difficult and delicate matter. Any wrong step, small mistake or unnecessary movement can erase the results of long negotiation work.

Bohdan Okhrimenko, head of the Secretariat of the Working Group of the Coordination Headquarters, noted that each special operation to return Defenders or civilians held hostage by the occupiers is unique. Every success is the result of the work of the state and society.

The coordination headquarters emphasizes that it is the only state body authorized to resolve the issue of the release of Ukrainian hostages. They are also responsible for ensuring that all Ukrainian and international laws governing the treatment of prisoners of war are followed.

Okhrimenko, urged individuals not to communicate independently with Russian prisoners of war. Such actions, if they are not coordinated with the Headquarters, can negatively affect the negotiation process. The headquarters emphasizes that any communication with prisoners must strictly comply with Ukrainian legislation and international humanitarian law.
