The Ministry of Defense has increased the list of brigades that can be joined under the “Contract 18-24”
The number of brigades that volunteers can join as part of the Ministry of Defense project “Contract 18-24” has increased significantly. The relevant order was signed by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, informs press service of the Ministry of Defense.
Ten new units were added to the six brigades with which it was already possible to sign a contract: among them assault, mechanized, amphibious assault, mountain assault, marines and coastal defense. Thus, volunteers between the ages of 18 and 24 can now choose to serve in the Ground Forces, the Navy, the Airborne Forces or the Unmanned Systems Forces.
The “Contrakt 18-24” program provides a financial reward of up to 1,000,000 hryvnias: 200,000 hryvnias of which are paid immediately after signing the contract, and the remaining 800,000 – in two installments later. The monthly allowance can reach up to 120,000 hryvnias plus additional payments for participation in hostilities, so the total annual income can reach 2,000,000 hryvnias.
Participants in the program are also given the opportunity to take advantage of “zero” mortgage, free education and medical coverage (including dental prosthetics), and the right to travel abroad after one year of service. The law guarantees that a person is released from mobilization for 12 months after the end of the contract.
