The court lifted the seizure of the property of relatives of ex-minister Stavytskyi in the case of “Mezhyhirya”

Vyshgorod District Court of Kyiv Region passed the decision to remove the arrest from the property belonging to the family of the former Minister of Energy Eduard Stavytskyi. Apartments, plots of land and jewelry, a total of 270 items, are no longer under arrest. In particular, six apartments, five parking spaces and two garages were returned to Stanislav Stavytskyi, the son of the ex-minister.
The wife of the former official, Olena Stavytska, also received back four apartments, $24,700 and a significant amount of jewelry, which had previously been recognized as material evidence and handed over to the state for safekeeping.
In addition, property registered to Valentina Ushakova’s mother-in-law was released from seizure. It is about an apartment, a plot of land, a cottage and six parking spaces. She was also given back jewelry, including three men’s watches, which Ushakova says have commemorative value because they belonged to her late husband.
The court ordered the return of 20 wristwatches, 14 cufflinks and two badges depicting Yaroslav the Wise and George the Victorious to Stavytskyi’s father. Things seized back in 2014 remained under arrest. At the same time, the property, which included 4.8 million dollars and several kilograms of gold bars, disappeared from the apartment where the search was conducted. This property was not seized, and its whereabouts remain unknown.
