The Czech Republic will train 4,000 Ukrainian soldiers on its territory

There is currently no need to send Czech instructors to Ukraine, according to Yana Chernokhova, head of the country’s Ministry of Defense. Despite this, Ukrainian military personnel will continue to be trained in the Czech Republic. This year, about 4,000 Ukrainians will study there.

Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron called on international partners to send instructors to conduct military exercises directly in Ukraine. Several countries are currently considering this proposal. The Czech Republic rejected Macron’s idea, citing the territorial proximity of the countries. Czech instructors will continue to teach Ukrainians on their territory.

“Four thousand soldiers were trained in the Czech Republic last year, and the same number of mandates have been approved for this year. Whether it will be possible to reach the maximum number will depend on how well it is possible to recruit people in Ukraine.” – she noted Yana Chernokhova.

The minister spoke positively about the results of the training of the Ukrainian military, which took place in the Czech Republic last year.

“We’ve seen men, women, people of all ages and backgrounds who are highly motivated to defend their country and want to learn in record time what soldiers learn in long-term courses. They know they don’t have much time to learn, so they have to master some skills in a matter of hours” – said Chernokhova.
