The Defense Ministry’s Joint Stock Company increased purchases of Ukrainian weapons by 158 billion hryvnias
Starting from January to July 2025, the Defense Procurement Agency under the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine concluded contracts with Ukrainian manufacturers for an amount that exceeds the similar indicator of last year by 158 billion hryvnias, with the corresponding registration of budget obligations.
As a result, the share of domestically produced weapons and equipment in the total volume of purchases by the AOZ increased to 71.4%, while in January-July 2024 this figure was 44.1%.
“Systematicity gives results. When there are clear rules and a clear logic of interaction, manufacturers scale up. The growth of contracts with Ukrainian enterprises is the result of the restructuring of the procurement architecture.”, – said the director of AOZ Arsen Zhumadilov.
The direction of unmanned systems demonstrates the best dynamics – more than 95% of the funds allocated for the purchase of drones are directed specifically to Ukrainian manufacturers.
We will remind you that in April, the “Defense Procurement Agency” launched a supplier verification process, which is designed to simplify and speed up interaction with the market and ensure equal access to the procurement process.
“In 2025, the budget of the AOZ for the purchase of weapons, military equipment and ammunition is over UAH 380 billion. The implementation of the “single window” is part of the digitalization of procurement processes and makes cooperation with manufacturers more modern and technological.” – explained the director of the procurement policy department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Hleb Kanevskyi.
