The DPRK officially admitted that it is helping the Russian Federation in the war against Ukraine

North Korea has officially confirmed for the first time that it has sent its troops to Russia to help recapture the territories of the Kursk region that were captured by Ukrainian forces. About this informs Yonhap.
North Korea’s Central News Agency KCNA said the troops were sent to Russia based on a mutual defense treaty between Pyongyang and Moscow. North Korean leader Kim Jong-un concluded that the situation in the Kursk region meets the conditions for the application of the treaty, so he ordered his armed forces to take part in hostilities and informed the Russian side about it.
“Operations to liberate the Kursk region to repel an adventurous invasion of the Russian Federation by the Ukrainian authorities were successfully completed.” – said Kim Jong Un, adding that the participation of their troops in the war against Ukraine “fully complies” with the UN Charter, other international laws and the bilateral agreement with Russia.
Kim Jong-un also announced that a monument will soon be erected in Pyongyang in honor of the heroism and courage of North Korean soldiers, and flowers will be laid in front of the tombstones of the fallen soldiers and a prayer for immortality will be said.
At the same time, the head of the Russian General Staff, Valery Gerasimov, also acknowledged the participation of the North Korean military in the battles in the Kursk region, noting that they fought there “side by side” with the Russians, showing “steadiness and heroism.”
