The government decided to resume market surveillance of non-food products

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to resume scheduled inspections of non-food products, which were suspended due to martial law, and also restored state control over these products at the level of customs authorities. About this informs press service of the Ministry of Economy.
Deputy Minister of Economy Tetyana Berezhna noted that the moratorium on checks introduced at the beginning of the full-scale invasion gave businesses the opportunity to adapt to new conditions. However, now state supervision is returning to protect consumers from dangerous products and ensure a level playing field for all market participants.
Berezhna emphasized that the resumption of inspections will contribute to the support of bona fide producers who adhere to quality standards, against unfair competition. In addition, the government’s decision takes into account the recommendations of European partners and meets the requirements of the European Commission in preparation for the conclusion of the AAAA Agreement (“industrial visa-free”) and the “Ukraine Facility” program.
The restoration of state control aims to improve the quality and safety of non-food products, as well as to increase competition in the market. This is an important step in bringing the Ukrainian market closer to European standards and will speed up the process of concluding an “industrial visa-free” agreement.
To facilitate interaction with business, the government also launched a test version of the online platform “Pulse”. This tool allows entrepreneurs to evaluate the quality of public services, which will contribute to increasing their transparency and efficiency.
