The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine allowed the transfer of design documentation for Ukrainian weapons to non-state companies to expand their production. About this reported Herman Smetanin, Minister of Strategic Industries.
“If the state customer in the field of defense procurement plans to purchase weapons in a quantity that exceeds the capacity of state-owned enterprises to produce them, then at the initiative of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the design documentation for its production must be transferred to another manufacturer that has the capacity to master its production, including private manufacturers.”Smetanin explained.
According to him, the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers regulates the issue of preservation of state secrets and protection of intellectual property rights.
“This will help to cover to a greater extent the need of the Defense Forces for weapons and military equipment by the forces of domestic defense enterprises and to scale the production of Ukrainian anti-aircraft weapons. As a result, manufacturers will be able to receive more contracts and produce more defense goods.”, the minister noted.
