The Government of Ukraine allocates an additional UAH 4.1 billion for housing for veterans

Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine passed decision on the additional allocation of UAH 4.1 billion for compensation for the purchase of housing by war veterans in 2024. The total amount of subventions from the state budget will increase to a record 10.1 billion UAH, which will provide housing for 4,433 veterans and their families.

According to the adopted decision, additional funds in the amount of UAH 4.1 billion will be directed to compensation for the purchase of housing for 1,836 veterans by the end of 2024.

These funds will go to:

  • 388 persons with disabilities of I-II groups and family members of the deceased;
  • 1,448 veterans who are internally displaced persons.

As of November 1, 2024, 1,886 veterans have already received compensation, of which 695 people have purchased housing.

According to the Law of Ukraine “On the Status of War Veterans, Guarantees of Their Social Protection”, war veterans include:

  • participants in hostilities;
  • persons with disabilities due to war;
  • participants in the war.

We will remind that the Chernivtsi region fully compensates interest on mortgages for military personnel within the framework of the “eOsel” program, which is implemented through PrivatBank. In addition, in 2024-2025, veteran students of Kyiv will be able to receive targeted financial assistance for partial payment of education at higher educational institutions. The maximum amount of such assistance will be up to 25 thousand hryvnias.
