The government supported the abolition of 63 irrelevant requirements for businesses

On May 21, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine supported new initiatives developed by the Ministry of Economy, which relate to the cancellation of 63 irrelevant and duplicative requirements of state regulation for business.
In addition, it is proposed to cancel the administrative responsibility for violation of the norms that have lost their validity. Such a step aims to reduce legal risks for entrepreneurs and simplify the conditions of doing business. The changes will enter into force after the adoption of the relevant draft law by the Verkhovna Rada and its signature by the President.
“We are continuing deregulation — we are consistently reducing the administrative pressure on business. This time we propose to cancel more than 60 outdated tools that are not of real use. This will allow businesses to save about UAH 400 million.” — said First Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliya Svyridenko.
The package was formed on the basis of proposals provided by ministries, entrepreneurs and analytical structures. Specialized organizations and independent experts participated in the development. Among the regulatory requirements proposed for cancellation are instruments in the fields of agro-industrial complex, forestry and hunting, fishing, wildlife protection, water and air, energy, construction, use of explosive materials, innovation, investment, foreign economic activity, culture, education and health care.
The deregulation reform started in January 2023 with the formation of an interdepartmental working group under the leadership of Yulia Svyridenko and Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov. The group includes representatives of key ministries, the State Regulatory Service, as well as experts from think tanks BRDO, the Center for Economic Recovery, the Center for Economic Strategy, EasyBusiness and the EU4Business: SME Policies and Institutions Support project, which is implemented with the support of the European Union.
As of today, the working group has already reviewed 1,323 instruments of state regulation. Of these, 456 are recommended for cancellation, and 352 have already been canceled.
