The head of the charity fund was detained for swindling cars for the military: the National Police

The National Police of Ukraine exposed the head of a charitable organization who illegally earned more than 35 million hryvnias from the sale of cars imported as humanitarian aid for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. About this reported in the department’s press service.
As the investigation established, the head of the fund set up a scheme to import vehicles under the guise of humanitarian aid, which he undertook to hand over to the military free of charge. However, instead, he organized the sale of cars to civilians and military personnel for cash, violating the legal ban on the sale of rubber subsidies.
To implement the scheme, the perpetrator involved accomplices who were engaged in searching for buyers, preparing cars for sale and legal registration of transactions. One of the co-conspirators falsified reports that were later submitted to the relevant ministry, misleading the relevant authorities.
The head of the fund was detained in Poltava while trying to sell another car imported as humanitarian aid. During the investigation, it was established that the group was able to sell more than 230 vehicles that were intended for the Armed Forces or other military formations during martial law.
The suspect has been indicted and the question of choosing a preventive measure for him is currently being resolved. The investigation continues to bring to justice all members of the criminal group.
The head of the fund faces up to seven years of imprisonment with confiscation of property, as well as a ban on holding certain positions or engaging in certain activities for a period of up to three years.
