The Houthis threaten the US with revenge for the strikes on Yemen

The Iran-backed Houthis have said they are ready to “respond with escalation to escalation” after US airstrikes in Yemen killed at least 31 people. About this informs Reuters.

The strikes were the largest US military operation in the Middle East since Donald Trump took office. The political bureau of the Houthis called the attacks a “war crime”.

“Our Yemeni armed forces are fully prepared to respond to escalation with escalation”, – the statement of the group says.

Donald Trump called on Iran, the main ally of the Houthis, to immediately stop supporting the group. He emphasized that in the event of a threat from Iran, the United States “will hold you fully accountable, and we will not treat it kindly.”

In response, the commander-in-chief of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Hossein Salami, said that the Houthis make strategic decisions on their own, and Iran is ready to respond decisively to any aggressive actions.

“We are warning our enemies that Iran will respond decisively and destructively if they carry out their threats.” Salami emphasized.
